Men as Partners in Tuberculosis Prevention (MAP TB) Project
Since June 2019, the Partnership for an HIV-Free Generation (HFG) has been
implementing the Men as Partners in Tuberculosis Prevention (MAP TB) Project in
Mombasa county.
MAP TB project is funded by Global Fund through Amref Health Africa.
Project objectives:
- Increase identification and screening of men and Injection Drug Users (IDUs) for
TB in the informal settlements, Matatu sector and drug dens; - Effectively refer and link identified cases of TB to treatment facilities;
- Advocate and increase knowledge of TB, health-seeking behavior of men and
IDU for TB in the informal settlements, Matatu sector and drug dens; - Correctly document and collaborate in the notification of identified TB cases.
The project is being implemented in the following sub-counties namely Nyali, Kisauni,
Mvita, Likoni, Changamwe, Jomvu
