Afya Pwani Project

Over the past three years, the Partnership for an HIV-Free Generation (HFG) has been implementing Afya Pwani project in Kilifi, Mombasa and Kwale counties. The project is funded by USAID, through Pathfinder International.

Project Goal

The project aim is to reduce new HIV infections and untimely HIV-related deaths among
adolescent and young people aged between 10 and 24 years and the general
population in the target counties. The project will contribute to increased access and
utilization of quality HIV related services through:

  • Elimination of Mother-to-child Transmission (EMTCT)
  • HIV Prevention and HIV Testing Services (HTS)
  • HIV Care and Support Services
  • HIV Treatment Services

The project will also increase utilization of focused maternal newborn and child health
services, increase access to sexual reproductive health rights and family planning
services among adolescent and youth.
